My Updated 2008 NFL Mock Draft: Tell me which picks you like and dislike and the reason?
Qbs always get drafted high, whether they deserve to or not, Matt Ryan to ATL
New England has bigger problems than o-line, not mention that its a little bit of a reach for that lineman in particular
New England might trade down and select a corner, to whom I don't know, however that is thier largest need, or they may just select the best availiable player
Baltimore would take Ryan if he were there, if not, theyd probably take a lineman
Buffalo needs a big wr to complement lee evans, an help thier young qb in the redzone, although they need a corner too so that pick is a toss up, especially since it isnt clear who the best wr and cb is
The Texans might take a DE, maybe Phillip Merling seeing as they are trying to make the best D-line ever by drafting a d lineman 4 years straight. They already have Dunta Robinson and DeMarcus Faggins(Cbs).
Tamps needs a Wr, Joey Galloway is 36 years old and even though derrick Brooks is too, I believe the WRs at this point are better than the Lbs
Seattle%26gt;Jonathan Stewart
SF for the 2nd QB in the 1st round! Flacco or Brohm
Reply:Swap Gholston and McFadden, Albert's too high, Clady's too low, swap Mendenhall and Otah, get Devin Thomas out of there, and where's Phillip Merling?
I think there might be a couple more that could go either way, but for the most part, these are the only things I see wrong with it.
Reply:all of your picks are great because i really want the rams to pick up chris long.
Reply:kc, nyj, or atl will pick up matt ryan..all 3 teams need a qb
Reply:Good work it looks good.
Reply:i like it but i dont think Matt Ryan or Darren McFadden will go that low
Reply:i hate them all sosososo much
Reply:one of the smarter ones ive seen
Reply:That's a pretty solid mock draft. My only nitpicks are the following:
- OG/OT Branden Albert at #7 - I realize that Albert is shooting up draft boards lately, but no offensive guard has ever been picked that high, IIRC, and I don't think Albert has played a snap at OT so projecting him there is a risk.
- WR Devin Thomas at #22 - Maybe it's just me, but IMHO Devin Thomas has #2 WR written all over him, not #1 WR. Would the Cowboys spend their 1st draft pick on a future #2 WR? Malcolm Kelly, DeSean Jackson, Early Doucet and James Hardy would be better choices, IMHO.
- DT Kentwan Balmer at #25 - I realize that the Seahawks lost Chuck Darby and Ellis Wyms to free agency, but I still don't think that DT tops their needs list. This is a team that could very well spend its first round pick on a WR.
- CB Justin King at #29 - This guy shot up draft boards after his workouts, but once teams start looking at his game tapes again, they'll see a very raw CB who may not be what they want out of a first round pick, epseically during a draft that is loaded at CB. If it must be a CB, then Antoine Cason is a safer pick.
Good job all-around, though! :)
Reply:pats will not take albert they need to take defence if they want to continue to win. They will take either rivers of cromarite.mcfadden will go to oakland raiders are stacked on d wheter you know it or not they need some firepower, seeing there are no standout recivers worthy of the 4th pick dmc will go nice to help russel. I see atl taking ryan althogh I do not see much in him to where he is worth 1st rd money. hel be a decent backup or a mediocre starter
